Can you explain shift pressures in more detail?

NEW!!!

I will make one calibration change for an additional $100 per change. For example, changing a shift point for a given gear is $100 vs changing a shift point and a pressure setting would be $200. That value can be used towards the full custom tuning price.

Can you explain shift pressures in more detail?

The article leaves a little bit to be desired, I'd like more explanation of how each table works.

Specifically, how do these settings work with each other?

1) Max Pressure

2) Max Pressure B

3) Max Clutch

4) Max Line Pressure

I'm confused because the base shift pressures for each gear are higher than the stock "max pressures", so I am confused how all of it works.

Also, can you damage the transmission by adding too much pressure? In the article, you said you just set it from a 2010 CTSV, but is there another method for adding shift pressure?  I really only want firm and quick shifts at WOT only, I am perfectly fine with the stock shift time at part throttle.
