NEW!!!

I will make one calibration change for an additional $100 per change. For example, changing a shift point for a given gear is $100 vs changing a shift point and a pressure setting would be $200. That value can be used towards the full custom tuning price.

09 Escalde, 2-3 flare

So my caddy has a flare 2-3 shift.
Get in, take off, 1-2 shift is fine, then as the tcm shifts the trans to 3rd, it will flare 2000rpms; i've been used to it, so i simply let up on the throttle and let it shift.
i bought the truck used and it's done this from day one.

the truck 100% stock, no mods, zero mods.

Anything over that certain 20-40% throttle (haven't scanned it yet) and it shifts fine.
It even shifts fine at wot.

I've been messing around with pressures and shift time and the trans responds nicely.

The odd thing is, the truck will do this the first time I drive it and the first time it shifts.
It might do it less the second time and is pretty much done flaring after that.
After the issue disappears, the shift feels normal, i can feel it's not as quick or firm as the others.

keep in mind, 100% stock tune.

Now with the tune, truck feels awesome and runs good. Just those first two times it shifts it flares.

I have heard others complaining about this, but haven't really looked into it. As always, my trucks are last and i just don't think about fixing it until it's time to go home.

I haven't checked GM's TSB's either, I'm thinking there might be a tsb out for a reflash, i can do the ecm with TIS and my universal programmer, but i don't have the tools (my tech2 can't do it) to flash the tcm embedded in the trans.

btw, if anyone has a newer OS for the ecm and tcm than this, i'd like to try it.
truck is an escalade EXT (avalanche body)

thanks,
