NEW!!!

I will make one calibration change for an additional $100 per change. For example, changing a shift point for a given gear is $100 vs changing a shift point and a pressure setting would be $200. That value can be used towards the full custom tuning price.

6L80E rebuild

Hi Wacker,

I'm rebuilding a 6L80E at the moment and I'm looking for a bit of advice. The 1-2-3-4 clutch pack was burnt up badly and several plates welded together. The rest of the clutch packs were in reasonable shape, a little discoloration but otherwise OK.

All the reading I've done targets the 3-5-R & 4-5-6 packs as the usual suspects, and I'm replacing these with Alto red eagle packs.

Do you have any knowledge of why the 1-2-3-4 pack would have burnt up? The trans code is 08CVA and that makes it a 2008 build. I've read about an update regarding o-ring seals with tabs on the pump cover shaft and this unit appears to have these in place.

Ant insight would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Glenn.

PS. After the build I'll be buying HP fo rthe tune
