6l90 TCC not locking

NEW!!!

I will make one calibration change for an additional $100 per change. For example, changing a shift point for a given gear is $100 vs changing a shift point and a pressure setting would be $200. That value can be used towards the full custom tuning price.

6l90 TCC not locking

Hello,

Car is a 2014 Chevy SS sedan 427 twin 62mm E38 PCM T43 TCM using HPtuners.

Background - Previous Stock 6l90 with TCI bolt together converter - no issues locking converter. Trans worked great. Wanted to upgrade trans and converter.

Currently - 6l90 Circle D level 4 with new converter (dont want to bash converter folks so not including their name)-Trans working great.

During lock up converter slips under slight accel while crusing. Lock converter with scan tool slips during slight accel. Trans is trying to control slip can see TCC pressure rise to 109 during slip. While at zero accel TCC pressure is ~70psi with no slip.

Made only two passes. Trans shifted perfectly under WOT. Trans commanded to lock converter in 4th gear. Converter slip went from 1400rpm down to 400rpm.

If attached tune is ok, I'm thinking since I had success with TCI bolt together, this converter is either defecttive or not working well with GM OEM OS.

If this turns out to be a converter issue do you have a recommended aftermarkert torque converter company you've had success with?

Regards,

Fred
