NEW!!!

I will make one calibration change for an additional $100 per change. For example, changing a shift point for a given gear is $100 vs changing a shift point and a pressure setting would be $200. That value can be used towards the full custom tuning price.

6L90E Top Speed issue

Hello,

I have a lightely tuned 2011 CTS-V (2.4 pulley, E85), which I currently run in Europe. I've followed your recommendations regarding shift times, pressure, torque adders, etc. and I'm very happy with the settings now.

The only issue is that the tranny won't shift to 6th gear in WOT, which also causes the top speed to set well below 300kph. Probbably not a big deal in the US, but quite annoying on a German autobahn when you want to run for a short period of time ~300kph / try your top speed... As I understand it, this issue is deliberately caused by a stock GM tune trying to protect the tranny from breaking apart.

Therefore, based on your experience, do you think that allowing the tranny to shift also into 6th gear at WOT and maintaining ~300kph and over for some time (let's say up to 10s) might demage the tranny or it should be rather fine to run it like that? And if there is a high risk of the tranny failure, which settings should I adjust to make it safe to run ~300kph at 6th gear?

Many thanks.
