A correct engine tune is CRITICAL to getting your trans tune correct.
Application: 2008 G8 GT, stock, with some minor calibration changes;
Where I live the various gas stations pump roughly E5 (5% ethanol to gasoline mix), as verified with this. -> http://www.eaa.org/autofuel/autogas/test_kit.asp
My car is not a flex fuel vehicle, and has no fuel composition sensor, so yesterday I changed my stoichiometric ratio to correctly reflect the ~5% ethanol content (14.393066:1), and reset the fuel trims. Ever since I have noticed a significantly smoother series of shifts, so much so, that what was previously a somewhat obtrusive 2-3, is now nearly unnoticeable. I'm pretty damned happy with the outcome, so far.
Thoughts? Am I reading too much into this?
