NEW!!!

I will make one calibration change for an additional $100 per change. For example, changing a shift point for a given gear is $100 vs changing a shift point and a pressure setting would be $200. That value can be used towards the full custom tuning price.

Something that helped me re: CT torque management

Hi all,

Don't know if anyone has ever come across this before when getting their tune dialed in, but here's a setting that's helped me while I get idle/VE/spark etc. set up...

I've been taking a "back to the future" approach to my tune and backing out changes to rebuild things again to my liking. In particular, other than "Max Adapt Value -> Max 2-3" set to 200 and "Torque Reduction -> Speed Ctrl Terminate" set to 'Immediate', the remainder of the trans tune was stock. Still, I found myself fighting surge behavior on downshift, especially 3-2 and 2-1, while working on getting my tune dialed in for driving manners.

This headache ultimately led me to look at what was happening under closed throttle (CT). From what I could tell, it looked like torque management was getting in the way of smooth downshifts. So, I made sure Tip-in TqMgt -> CT Downshift was set to 'None' (the default on my setup), then set "Torque Reduction -> CT Downshift" to 'Disable' and "Flare TqMgt -> CT Downshift" to 'Disable'... lo and behold, downshifts when braking to a stop are now smooth as glass.

Anyway, this was a nice way to get rid of annoying transient behavior so I could focus on getting the engine tune dialed in. Hope this proves helpful to someone.
